Overall Purpose of the Job: (State briefly why the job exists) | |||
Provide additional support to management of Group Tax affairs and bring preparation of UK tax returns in –house. | |||

1. | Prepare UK corporate tax returns – currently prepared by advisers. | ||
2. | Prepare replies to Inland Revenue queries – currently done by advisers. | ||
3. | Assist Group Tax Manager with tax advice to business on foreign tax considerations. | ||
4. | Assist Group Tax Manager with advice on employee tax/expatriate tax issues. | ||
5. | Liase with Group Contracts Department on tax issues in commercial agreements. | ||

Reduce professional fees for compliance by £15k – £20k. Reduce reliance on external advisors for tax consulting advice. | |||

Applying tax knowledge to preparation of Tax returns and providing commercial tax advice to the business and Group support functions. | |||
Decision making Authority/Level of Supervision Required: | |||
Reports to Group Tax Manager. | |||

Internal: Liase with Group Finance for accounts information and other Group support functions as necessary; liase with Tax Advisers for high level review of computations; liase with foreign Tax Advisers and Business Managers on overseas tax issues; liase with HR department on PAYE/Benefits/Expat issues; provide advice to Group contracts department on tax issues in commercial agreements. | |||
